OK... so the kid claimed Tylor wasn't hurting him... could be true, could be not. He knew those being abused rarely if ever were honest or upfront about their treatment, so whether or not he was being forthright here... it was hard to say. And the farm bit... Randall could feel his jaw clenching even harder at these words... again, maybe but... unlikely. This kid was playing it close to his chest, but the purple and blue monster expected nothing less after all. "Eh... even so... I'm going to walk with you just in case." He stated, not elaborating for the moment, since the kid didn't seem keen on discussing this anyway. 

"A week?" He inquired, tapping his fingers a little as they walked. "Hm... so... not long... but long enough I'd say." he mused aloud. "And I take it you're finding it better than your world, eh?" This might be a clue here... already, the kid seemed to be enamored with their home, despite it not being his after all, and that was screaming all kinds of things to Randall, namely that things weren't so great back home. 

Jake shrugged his shoulders.

He guessed that he didn't care much if the lizard did follow him. But he also didn't want him to get too close, after all. The last thing he needed was for him to make friends with someone who suspected... Something. That meant they might ask questions or worse. And that always lead to trouble on his end. "Be my guest. I mean, if you have nothing better to do," He explained politely. "I'm pretty tough. I can handle myself too."

Better? Oh God, everything about this world was better, if he were being real. Though he had only seen so much of it, he also did feel that he was just.... Well, that he had... "I guess I just felt like I never really belonged back there," Jake admitted. "Like when I came here I met my people - the right kind of people. Ones that got me. No one's seen me as weird or different, yet I mean... Like how you said that my book and study stuff was like your bi-bi-... Bi-something."

"Yeah... you are tough." Randall nodded, giving him a sagely look. "But you also shouldn't be alone, either... you're tough, and you survived." He emphasized, trying to reassure the kid. He narrowed his eyes at Jake's second part, trying to reconcile his own feelings with what he was saying. Sure... he knew what he meant; like he didn't belong, like back home was some fleeting dream. "Eh... yeah... biology I think you mean... and Chupacabra said that I think." he stated. "You... eh... you can't go back... I guess I confirmed that." he said softly, rounding a corner into another hall. "I always felt a bit out of place here... at least growing up; then I settled in, or so I thought." He sighed, his upper body slumping a little here. 

"I just hope I'm making some sort of sense." He told him, waving his right upper hand to elucidate his point. "I know about this stuff... about why us monsters were not only scarers but... also in a way your protectors... there were reasons for that but... without going too much into it... it's good to be tough, but it's better to have that backup as well... we can't always do this crap on our own." He said, nearly muttering, but not quite. 

Ah, that was a good point. But at the same time he did want to clarify one thing... "I mean, I'm not alone all the time. Sometimes I hang out with Tylor," He explained rather chipperly. "Or Sulley... Because, y'know, back in the day he was my scarer. So we got that history thing going on." He explained rather bubbly. Not fully aware of the pair's relationship.

Huh, he had never thought about that. Protectors. Well, he knew that Tylor had always been very keen on looking out for him in the human world. Even if he was too self-centered to notice what was going on. But he'd been way too young to remember if anything was like that with Sulley. "Tylor would check on me all the time. But I don't know about Sulley. I was like four when he got promoted I guess?" He asked. "I just remember him because he was big, hairy, and cool."

Randall froze in his tracks, a visible grimace crossing his face as his heart stopped. Sullivan... Dammit. This kid's scarer had been Sullivan. "Ugh... Sullivan." He muttered, trying to keep his emotions in check as his lower hands clenched into fists. "I... yeah... the big... blue..." Bastard he didn't add. "Eheh... cool... yeahhhhh." he drawled, trying to make it sound convincing. 

"I... don't have good relations with him... I don't... really want to get into it though." He sighed. "You have a connection with him... he was your scarer, and I get it." he shook his head. "Anyway... uh... I'm sure he'll talk to you at some point... he probably knows you're here after all." He stated, clenching his teeth behind pursed lips so Jake couldn't see. 

Jake could see the contortion in Randall’s face.

The kid part of him did giggle while the other part had to wonder what exactly had happened between the two of them. What had Sulley of all people done? Then again. He had never been cruel in his scaring of him. And when it came to knowing him this had been after the Boo incident so the boy couldn’t know exactly what Sulley was like.

But as it stood, Sulley had been the one substantial authority figure he respected and enjoye being around. “Sulley isn’t bad when you get to know him! He’s like a big teddy bear!” He said in his young enthusiasm. “He’s probably going to be mad I went around his back though. I usually check in with him or Tylor… Butttttt I do just like looking at the laugh floor sometimes.”

He then added. “I guess I just don’t like disappointing him though. He’s like the coolest one here. No offense,” he explained. “But it’s pretty cool that I basically had Bigfoot living in my closet. Even if he’s not really Bigfoot.”

Twitching a little, Randall was trying to contain himself. "Ugh... yeah... well... you don't know him all that well." he muttered. "Or if you do... it's in a different way. Anyway... I'm glad you have such a... good..." He was speaking through clenched teeth. "Scarer... he must've been... quite the influence..." It made sense; if his father was beating the crap out of him, then he'd... need someone like Sullivan... but ugh... Sullivan. 

"So... what's Tylor's last name?" he asked, hoping to at least learn that so he could confront him. "He uh... he sounds... newer... especially if he wasn't a scarer." he speculated. 

Wow, he really didn't like Sulley did he? It was kind of funny to Jake because just about everyone he knew did at least. "I mean I didn't really get to know him until I got here to be fair," He explained honestly. It was true, what kid actually knew their scarer well? "But I do like hanging around him. I think most people do, but I can already tell why you don't. You seem intense not that it's a bad thing... I think."

Oh, Tylor? Huh, did he have a last name? He was pretty sure he did anyway, it was hard to remember sometimes though. Something like Tusk... "Oh, it's Tuskmon! I think. He only told me once," He then added. "But I think he's new. He said he came here from college or something... Whatever that is." Clearly he didn't know a ton about schooling admittedly.

"Eh... it's more than that... I'm more on edge than anything else... he and I... don't really have a good history." the purple and blue monster confessed, muttering those words out. "It's nothing you need to know right now though; if he wants to tell you, he can." He said, waving one of his lower hands dismissively. 

Tuskmon... so that was his name; Randall had to admit, he wasn't familiar with it, but given he came in from college, he was a newbie... someone Randall wouldn't know anyway. "Tuskmon... "He repeated, making a mental note to look him up later. "Mmm... all right... it means he's from school... the highest level you can get." He tried to explain, speculating that Jake's parents or his father probably had never told him. Well... it was either Tylor or his father... it was usually those closest to you, and he hadn't mentioned anyone else at present. 

Jake nodded a little. He supposed that was a good point - lots of adult things were not "kids" business at least. Or so they said, he never really got why since he was always the nosy kid that found out anyway. "Oh, I'll definitely be asking him anyway, no offense. I'm just nosy," He admitted. "At least that's what I hear. Nosy or something like that."

OH. School. Now he sort of got it at least. He scratched his chin a little, he and school hadn't exactly been friends in the past after all. "Oh, school. Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I don't know a whole lot about it though," He admitted honestly. "We live a while from the nearest one so I kinda go when I can, y'know? Gotta drive to the nearest town."

"Yeah well... just fair warning... you may not like the answers you find." He muttered, again waving his lower right hand and letting out a sigh. "The past I have with him was never very good... Wazowski was, well... a different story but... Sullivan..." He practically growled the name. "Heh... was always a challenge." 

"Mmm..." He flicked his gaze downwards to the boy, frowning a bit. "Usually it's a regular thing but... sounds like you don't go that often." He stated, seeing a room up ahead that appeared to have a monster out front on watch. "Uh... is that it?" he asked, using his lower right hand again, this time to point, as it would probably be easier for Jake to see it. 

Always a challenge? Huh, maybe they were just competitive or something then. What was the problem with that. He waved Randal off a little, shaking his head. “I’m sure it’s nothing awful,” he said. “People don’t get second Chances if they’re really THAT bad right?” Or at least he hoped not. In which case he could imagine he was in some trouble.

School was regular? His dad hadn’t ever mentioned that… “Really? My dad says it’s only really for smart people. And I don’t exactly fall under that category I think,” Of course he finally noticed the door and nodded. “Yep! This is home sweet home… Kinda.”

"You might be surprised at what second chances consist of." He replied, muttering the words somewhat. "I'm restricted, even though I'm back. Look uh... just... if you do find out from Sullivan... you judge for yourself, all right? He's probably going to make it sound quite bad." Not like it wasn't bad after all, and Randall wasn't even sure why he was trying to justify his actions at this stage, especially to some random human kid. 

"It's for everyone." he quickly responded in regards to school. "Your dad's lying to you." He said curtly, starting to suspect it his also his father that was beating him senseless. Ugh... he still couldn't rule out Tylor but man... he needed to release some tension thanks to this conversation, and if only he could take out his anger on this kid's father. "Yeah well, guess I've seen you safely back." He pointed out, stopping short of heading inside, as he figured this was one of his off limits places. 

Quite bad? Man, what exactly had this guy done?

Honestly, on one hand he wanted to say that he was a little nervous. But on the other hand, he did know that Sulley usually seemed to be the understanding kind of guy. But still... He was actually more focused on the idea of school being for everyone, or his dad lying to him. Seriously? He didn't ever expect that his dad actually lied to him. But then again, Jake didn't know much better - like most kids that were being abused at home, he just knew what his parents taught him.

"... I, I'm sure that he didn't mean to lie to me," Jake replied as he messed with his shirt nervously. "He doesn't do that much, I don't think."

OH right, he had seen him off hadn't he? "Oh right, thanks Randall! Take it easy, man." He noted as he started to jog to the door before he let anything else slip out he hadn't meant to.

"Uh... yeah... no problem. See ya... kid." He waved, watching as Jake started to run to the door now. He pursed his lip, then turned and began padding off. He needed to find Tylor and talk to him; while it was likely he wasn't the abuser, he needed to confirm and eliminate him or... confirm him as such. If he was... he wasn't sure what he'd do to him but... it was a crime regardless. Then again... this might help his standing with the authorities if he could bring in a known abuser. Either way... he'd get to the bottom of this.
