Date: October 23rd

It was an ordinary day at the factory, though the former biggest event of the year was fast approaching; Halloween, in which everyone who had been a scarer had relished and looked forward to all year round. Now it was becoming consigned to an afterthought, as children weren't being scared but rather made to laugh. Regardless, a small company party was planned by Sulley, and Randall was currently wandering about, currently heading for a laugh floor. 

He'd come back to revisit old haunts, and try and see if there were any FEAR associates around. If they'd infiltrated the factory... he had his reasons for seeking them out. It was part of his overall plan, but right now, he just hoped he wouldn't run into any of the brats. As he was walking along, the lights suddenly flickered and then went out, causing him to lift his head and look about him. What... was going on? A power outage? Those were rare... were they not? Not unheard of of course but... this was unusual. A sudden cold breeze passed over him, the lizard monster wondering just what was going on at this stage. 

El Chupacabra was preparing for the upcoming holiday... or holidays, he might just share that Mexican one he had some familiarity with... but he wasn't sure. Anyway, his thoughts were cut off when the power was.

He made his way into the hall, though he wasn't vampire enough to have no trouble, between his experience in the wilderness, and his natural abilities, he wouldn't do too bad at navigating... the first thing he did, was find someone else. While he'd had a job now... an alibi was better if anything suspicious went on for now. That he spotted the purple scaly tail of the ex-con? That wasn't exactly a good alibi... but someone was better than no one.

"Randall!" he exclaimed, as he made up the distance between them.

Jake hadn't been living with Sulley long, but things had been going well.

He was already walking with a bigger pep in his step, at least at the moment. Since they still had to talk about it to the CDA at some point - he was sure of that the more he thought about it. But he was also ten, so said thoughts were only fleeting at best. Either way, even though he still had to be at the factory during the day at the moment; he was much better off, or at least he thought so.

Right now, he was busy getting more excited for Halloween. In a world of monsters, he could only imagine how much fun it was going to be! He wondered what kind of costumes they wore? Or did they even wear them at all? Either way that was what was on his mind when he was headed his way toward Sulley's office. Probably looking to bug him like he sometimes did...

And then the power went out.

It was probably the first time in his entire time there that someone would hear him scream. Loudly as he jumped. Jake didn't really like the dark, at all, but he could normally handle it... Unfortunately. That kind of quick black out? Had startled him. "Whoa! Who turned out the lights!?"

Randall snapped his head over, seeing Chupacabra running towards him. "El Chu?" he asked, his fronds raising. "What's going on? This a random outage or is this something a bit more sinister?" he asked, looking around him. Suddenly, a loud groaning could be heard from somewhere. Seemingly everywhere at once and yet emanating from deep within the bowels of the factory, but what the hell it was, Randall had no idea. 

"You... you hear that?" he asked, holding up a finger, his tail shifting uncomfortably and his fronds going far more flat as he struggled to determine the source. "I've got a bad feeling about this..." He commented, an uneasy feeling beginning to well up within him. 

"Salud!" was his automatic response, before realizing that Randall had meant him. "Erm." he thought a moment, "Chupie would be a better nickname." he said with a smile. "Si, I hear that. I think you're right that it is something more sinister."

He shook his head. "I may be vampire, but not this kind." he chuckled, aiming to lighten tension at least. "I figure... we can seek turning power on... or try to er, get ahead of them? Protect what they are... after..."

What the heck was that!?

Loud groaning. Great. Jake wasn't afraid of monsters, he reminded himself. But the actual thought of anything going wrong in the dark? Well, some of those monsters were really big. And what if stories of some of them being carnivores were true!? He definitely attempted to quell his growing panic. There was no way he was going to let this get to him, he was ten! A big kid! He could handle this!

He hoped...

Instead he decided to start feeling his way along the wall and shout. "Hey! Is anybody there!? What the heck happened?" He hoped eventually he'd run into someone. And not whoever made that noise.
